The tourist experience in the Garraf gets a rating of 8,37 out of 10 in 2019, surpassing the average of 8.24 in the Barcelona Region. This is affirmed by a study that measures the reputation of each region through an Online Reputation Index (iRON). The project has been carried out by the company specialized in tourism innovation and intelligence Vivential Value, based on the analysis of more than 1,5 million opinions expressed by users on social networks and the main online tourism platforms until May 2020.

In Garraf, the most valued sector has been tourist attractions with an average rating of 8.78. Secondly, the accommodations stand out with an iRON of 8.39, compared to the 8.10 that the Barcelona Region has received in its overall evaluation. In relation to the group of restaurants of the region, they present a more discreet valuation of 8,11, still with 0,11 percentage points above the general valuation of the region.

The study shows the locations of the Garraf where the largest volumes of opinion have been concentrated, highlighting among them the municipalities of Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltrú. Sitges, with an iRON rating of 8.37, is the municipality with the highest number of opinions received. In this way, it reaches the figure of 183,219 interactions, which represents 78.6% of the total Garraf. It is followed by Vilanova i la Geltrú with a volume of 37,301 opinions, but with a similar score of 8.28, still above the Barcelona Region average.

Included in the tourism intelligence strategy, the tourism reputation monitor is justified by the large volumes of data generated each year on the digital channel and the importance of online reviews as a potential prescription element.
