Mrs. Economy

Do you still think you’re free? Ask Mrs. Economy …

The economy, what is it? According to various classical theorists, it is the scarce resource allocation. Through mechanisms such as price control, interest rates and other tools, an attempt is made to make markets work efficiently. Up to here, everything is correct. An oxymoron that always comes to my mind, is: The economy generates extraordinarily large profits whenever it fails. Let me explain. A really practical example are wars. Dictators (such as Franco, Stalin) enjoyed a power beyond money, they came to control the uncontrollable and they got out of hand. That’s what I like most about the economy, which is as abstract and submissive as it is real and compelling. My opinion is that it has life. Go crazy, you must think … Well no, she has life and she does not like to be shocked or bothered. It does not like that you force her to work under strict parameters, it is altered. He gets dizzy and staggers, lowers his defenses and does not flow. But like all being alive, it has gone through different stages. None has set at 100%. The party school of Social Capitalism (Welfare State), that of interventionism (Socialism in any of its aspects, such as Fascism, Communism, etc.), that of the ” Laissez fairez ” (Absolute non-intervention by the State) … Thousands of thinkers, illustrious all, have given rise to theories of this lady so capricious. Adam Smith, Karl Marx, John M. Keynes, Friederich Hayek, Milton Friedman …
All of them with their theories, geniuses that in one way or another have marked the story. Recapitulating, I ask my question: Does the economy suffer or generate wars? Maybe you sound something bombastic and even romantic but the goal of anyone reading this, no matter how free you think, is to know that you live and will live under the umbrella of the economy. I do not come to tell you that you are lost in an oasis of madmen who only profess the law of maximum benefit and that you do not give a damn. No man, I would never tell you that. I do not like to tell the truth. This world we live in is a jungle. Sometimes I wonder how we’ve evolved so much, the struggle for power (whether it be the leader of a tribe, being a divinity, an emperor, a king, a billionaire) has always come to the fore. Let’s try to play with intelligence, let’s not fall into such obvious traps, let’s be faster. We must form, is that the solution? Why, to know that we are not really free and we are frustrated? Live to rest from our busy jobs? Work for another or work for others? For my part, I hope to have made you think something, not bad, sometimes …
